8/5/2018 0 Comments Spring EnergyI am not sure if it’s only me that has noticed (most likely not)....but it seems to me our little town is awash with a fresh and vibrant energy at the moment. Winter is winding down.....the dormant wildflower seeds nourished by the winter rains over the last few weeks are sprouting abundantly, the established bushes are brimming with new lush green growth and some are full of blooms.....the colours are truly amazing
Inspired by this late winter transformation and in expectation of the new season ahead let us rejuvenate and restore our energy reserves so we too can blossom, flourish and strengthen. This weeks classes will focus on the lower Dan Tien or our sacral energy centre. Dan Tian, means “elixir field” and a place to store energy. Think of the Dan Tian as a reservoir and a place of inner strength. The Dan Tian, located in the lower abdomen between the navel and the pubic bone, corresponds to the physical functions of digestion, elimination, and reproduction. Psychologically it functions by giving us a sense of stability and balance. It is also a source of power for physical energy, a centre of creativity that manifests through vitality and sexuality. A regular asana and pranayama practice that focuses awareness upon the Lower Dan Tien can leave us feeling, re-energised, grounded, renewed, and confident. Looking forward to seeing you on the mat this up coming week.
